Stress

Yeah, stress is a killer.

I submitted my application today. I've got to send one assigment in, and then wait for my transcript to show up at the college, and then I WAIT for them to decline or accept me.

Also not having money sucks.

OK ARMI FINE!!!

Yeah, so I haven't updated in a while. It's cause I moved. My own computer isn't hooked up to the internet yet, so I'm on Morgan's. However, I don't like spending too much time on her computer, so I really don't. AND THAT IS WHY I HAVEN'T UPDATED YOU JERK.

Anyway, I got in contact with the head of financial aid at the Guildhall, so here's hoping something good happens.

And that's it.

Wow, that sucks.

Sweet Christ

Sorry it's been just about two damn weeks since I've updated. In all honesty, I haven't done much.

So hopefully, I'll have something better up here in a little while.

THIS is what it's all about to me.

I'm still shaking...
I'm also sweating. I could be sweating because it's hot, but I'm sure that's only secondary.
I can't belive I actually did it. I can't believe it's done.
I've been striving for this moment for so long.

I beat Mega Man X4. Sigma is defeated. For now...

But seriously, I was shaking. Not uncontrollably, but more of an "ohh holy god the end is nigh!" sort of shaking. I set forth to do it today, and I actually followed through.
It's not even that it's THAT great a thing, it's just the way it happend. It's almost like a movie, if, you know, nerds made ALL movies. Horribly cliche`. I basically worked hard, and kept failing. But I didn't give up. And I used my backup plans, which were basically a gamble. But it worked. I barely won. One more hit on me, and it would have been over.

I'm so excited. I feel just like a freaking kid again.

THIS is the reason I play games. I truly enjoy the times I have. I am sure I will remember this moment for quite a while.

And it's this sort of feeling that I want other people to have with the games I make. I want them to get attached, to feel a sense of accomplishment, to get excited.

To freaking shake when they barely beat the game.

That's what gaming is to me. That's what I strive for.

P.S.
I want to edit this. I want to explain it all so much more. So I'm going to. Just not now. I'll tell you when I do.

Whirlwind of adventure!!!

With Microsoft's announcement that the XNA development studio for games will be (essentially) free, I really decided to get my ass into gear. An announcement like this is actually a pretty big deal to nerds like me. It pretty much means that I can make games on my computer that will play on my 360. If I want to share them with other people, I'll have to pay the low low cost of $99 a year. Now, that may seem like a lot, but if you realize that it only costs about $10,000 for a PLAYSTATION 3 (the emphasis is actually the way Sony wants it typed. What gives?) development kit, it really doesn't seem like that much.

After I read that announcement, I got pretty excited. I realized that this could be what I need to actually START and maybe even FINISH something. I've started a lot, but finishing is something totally new to me.

Several months ago, Microsoft did a "How to program games" type of web-seminar thing. Each of the two "classes"(3-d programming and 2-d programming) have several sessions (11 and 8, respectively) and each run about 50 minutes to an hour.

I downloaded all of them. I've already watched the first two, and as soon as I get more time, I'm gonna watch more. I've also been looking around online for certification courses/classes/whatever-the-hells I need to get a certificate.

So hopefully I will actually see this through. I'm sure I will.

I think...
